Once a classically trained French chef, I embarked on an extraordinary odyssey, transcending the sizzle of kitchen pots and pans to find solace in the hushed world of pens and Post-it notes. Throughout my tumultuous twenties, I roamed the kitchens of Europe, meticulously refining my culinary prowess and even securing dual citizenship in Ireland. But the siren call of Australia beckoned, leading me back to the land down under, first in Sydney and eventually settling in Melbourne.
My life unfurled as a perpetual journey.
Raised in the heart of Melbourne, I found myself residing in Berlin, nestled amidst the rugged Spanish mountains, wandering the historic streets of Dublin, and immersing myself in the electric vibrancy of Sydney. This nomadic existence transformed me into a true global citizen, underscored by the presence of my second passport.
In the precious moments when I'm not pursuing my professional ventures, I trade the comfort of four wheels for the thrill of two, surrendering to my unwavering passion for motorcycling. On my most epic voyage, I roared from Sydney to Melbourne in a single exhilarating day. The evenings, however, offer a contrasting pace as I dedicate myself to a furniture-making school, patiently crafting my path towards the creation of bespoke dining tables, chairs, and more.
Dyslexia, a distinctive facet of my identity, is a source of strength rather than a limitation. While I must be unwaveringly meticulous with spell checks, I thrive in the realm of public speaking engagements, in-person workshops, and any situation where people take center stage.
Professionally, my journey has been a diverse and thrilling one. My expertise has been woven through a tapestry of consultancies, creative agencies, and an enthralling chapter within the startup landscape.
In my initial foray at Squiz, I primarily collaborated with government and higher education clients, specializing in Smart Search and personalization through self-segmentation. My next stop led me to CHEP, where I engaged with an eclectic array of clients, delving deep into strategy and customer experience. Here, I expanded my horizons by delving into behavioral science and gamification.
A brief stint followed at Howatson and Co before I plunged back into the startup sphere, focusing exclusively on art and intellectual property. In this venture, I dedicated myself wholly to product design and agile development, immersing myself in the digital design world, prototyping, and rapid agile development.
Today, I stand as a freelance, end-to-end experienced designer, serving as a contractor for clients across the vast expanse of Australia. My journey continues to be an unfolding narrative of growth and creativity, marked by a relentless pursuit of excellence in design and innovation.
